Just to remind what I already have said in the begging of the year that the growth will be around 5% and to be more specific I said between 5-10%. I remember that a lot of the forumers have argued with me...

http://www.exyuaviation.com/2015/11/...-forecast.html

Here is what I've said back then:

But it seems that there will be no growth this year. + - 1% yoy. So even you were too optimistic.

I predict that it will be a 4-6% Growth because the other airliners has been withdraeing due to Air Serbia protection. But next year will be a growth of 6-8% just remember that. im def sure it be targetted that in which air serbia is delevoping more planned routes. But still need to fix the rest of the year and the first half of 2016 then we should see air serbia expanding around the region and onwards (including US)

Nikola, the growth this year won't be more than 3%. This is the optimistic scenario. Next year for sure the airport will have a growth - probably 5-6%, if the year is really a good one it may go up to 10% - which is a normal growth for such an airport.
The airport should aim to attract more airlines, not to protect only one, because after all the passengers will suffer. The prices will go up and up when there is monopoly.
Regarding this flights to the US, I'm not an optimist. It won't happen before 2017 due to numerous of reasons. Now Vucic is using these flights for political campaigning which isn't serious. There are a lot of obstacles before ASL for the US and the main one is that it's owned by ME3 company.
I believe that there is plenty of other places that ASL should add before thinking of translantic flights. Such destinations are Kiev, Cairo, Madrid, Barcelona, Ankara and St. Petersburg.

What do you think those reasons are?

Hi Alex,
as I mentioned the main and most important reason is the war between the amrican carriers and the ME3 and getting an OK from FAA won't be an easy thing. As you can see ASL is having trouble to get an OK for code-share flights, immagine when they apply for direct flights. A second reason is that JFK is one of the busiest aiports in the world and getting slots for it isn't an easy thing, so may be Newark will be a better choice (from my point of view). The third reason is that the company still don't have a plane to operate such route.

The design is very similar to second Warsaw airport for low-cost carriers (Warszawa-Modlin).
