Skybean, I love how your second picture is framed against that nice green forest. Quite beautiful.

I've updated my photoblog if anyone is interested... please leave a note if you visit as these threads sink like a stone in that section if no one replies!

CityPlace is a stunning supermodern complex at night. I will have to take my tripod and get some shots of where it's at. Bremner and lower Spadina both look amazing IMO, very different from the rest of Toronto. I'm glad we have this area. (If anything, its imperfections and differences from the rest of Toronto add interest to it.) I realize it's nobody's favourite urban planning example, but I like the way it looks, at least at night I do!
I have a few shots, but taken from a moving vehicle unfortunately. I'll post them later! |

City Hall tends to disagree. They think its one of the best planned communities in the city. Apparently concord even has a retail plan so that not just anything can open up in the area. They want a wide range of stores and services, the parks and open spaces are nicely designed and linked together and transit in the area is pretty good with room to be better.

The people who hate it will always hate it. I figure if I don't want to live in it (which I don't) why would I get all worked up about the fact it seems to be a community that is being enjoyed by the people who actually do live there?

I think people would like it more if they thought of it as a large urban park with skyscrapers in it...rather than large collection of skyscrapers connected by little parks. BTW Looking forward to those night pics...i agree i think it looks great at night.

Amazing Spoonman, simply superb. Pebbz if you can do that with a phone I'd like to see what you can do with a proper one!

You should see Pebbz' work... she has taken some stunning photography. I wish she would start a photothread in the cityscape photography section so more could enjoy it. She has a natural gift.

I was gonna say, I took my photos with a quasi-dSLR and even touched them up a little post-hoc. If Pebbz can take photos like that with a cellphone, then it boggles my mind to imagine what she can do with a proper camera.

Oh i like this shot a lot!
Also, thanks for the comments too guys A camera is a camera. If you spam it long enough, you are bound to get lucky ![]() Spoon, I do have to do some minor post-processing on those cellphone pictures, mainly adjust the white balance in photoshop, otherwise everything has an ugly green tint to it. TB, thanks for the suggestion but I kinda feel weird making a dedicated thread since I do not know anyone nor do I follow any of the threads outside of the Toronto section. I like this thread as it challenges me to focus on specific topics of photography, Toronto and architecture.

Untrue. I think it is obvious that you have started a local fanclub. Consider the idea of collecting all your fave pics for a photothread... I don't think it is fair that no one else gets to see them but us!
