It's silly, has no relationship to the site... could be built anywhere. It would be difficult to expand, annoying to navigate and there seems to be no architectural innovation in a building for one of the more innovative companies in the world. i.e. It could have been built 30 years ago. I'm disappointed, it looks like an object not a building, like an ipod wheel, it's really rather dull.

I love the idea of having so much green inside and around the circle, I doubt that in the end it will look that good though. Most other office parks are surrounded by parking lots which makes the local climate extremely unpleasant.

I look the actual zone with google maps and street view, and all offices and shops have a big parking lot outside and then small green zones.

This is probaly the first in silicon valley zone with really big green zones, and all the cars hiden in the underground parking (2 levels acording to the plan, and then in other part of the parcel will have a multi-storey parking).

But, as European I am, I can't understand why there isn't in the project any public transport system like metro o tram besides bus there will be many people working in there, typical of USA…

I absolutely love the environment they are creating outside the building, that is how this area naturally looks so I think it's amazing they are recreating that. This is naturally one of the most beautiful and unique areas of the world as far as nature is concerned, so it's great they are bringing that feel to Palo Alto.

I like it! Unique design and I love the large amount of green space through out.

I can't believe no one's posted this video yet.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtuz5OmOh_M

It's Steve Jobs trying to sell the new spaceship HQ to the Cupertino City Council. It's a bit of a celebrity charade but a fun watch anyway.

It's a very corporate building.

A impervious glass 'box' just sitting in an open landscape. As such, it has no relation to the environment, and seemingly has no intimate spaces or direct interface with the outside.

It's a good object to look at, but it seemed like a building where you are either inside or outside. No transitions or in-between spaces.

How nice would that be? I'd prefer a more traditional architecture where people feel like they occupy a space and are the center of a space, than a large open space where people are just like ants in a maze.

And the wide angle views are quite misleading. The site isn't that big, and you'll definitely not feel like you're in the countryside.

Hope Apple can pull it off though. At least they have the money to try something new.

It looks highly insulated from its surroundings, as if it's turning inward in a literal manner. I can't imagine any reason why someone would feel invited to linger near it or walk around it (unless they're training for some Olympic event). What's more is the renderings of its exterior don't show us anything that differs from your average corporate park. When will architects learn that such buildings do little to excite and everything to bore?

It is a shame they did not ask SANAA, together with Petra Blaisse (curtaining) for this building. Norman Foster is not bad, but SANAA is the one office that could have truely built a great monument of minamalism, being both the most minimal of architects of the moment and one of the offices with the most exciting ideas about interconnection of vaste areas of functions and inside and outside spaces.

I would have been very curious too see what would have rolled out.

I like the creativity, flow and thought put into it, but I question the practicality for people who need to go from one part to another (for example, the south part of the circle to the north). Seems rather inconvenient.

I just like the building itself. Looks nice and neo-futurist.
