Middle class people wouldn't want to live there but i'm sure the poor would do anything to get a place. They should plant some trees and put in some art scluptures.

those pictures were taken on june/july so i guess they have already planted some palm trees. after the games those houses will be given to some poor people i think.

Definitely, every type of construction in Africa is limited in some way, the concept of urban greenery just doesn't exist.

I guess they prefer the dry, hot and dusty township look and you can see it everywhere including Maputo where the edges of roads have sand up to curb. It's not much work to have all these little things cleaned up to make the city more liveable.
