We should hear something in a day or two. One of the commission boards is recommending approval, so that's a very good sign. But there is always the chance it could be denied.

The City Planning Commission voted to approve the request for rezoning and all variances for the project. It'll now go before the City Council for final approval. That's usually just a formality. So looks like this one is go!

This project begins next week. It will be the first new tower in Minneapolis since the financial crisis.

I'm hopeful this will be the first of at least several new towers going up downtown. And I heard through the grapevine that the proposed convention center hotel will be at least 700 feet tall!
