Well, she is born and bred in Karamadai.

Anitha Kuppusamy and Anuradha Sriram were Pushpavanam Kuppusamy's juniors in music college

One of my favorite tamil songs. Old but it is a pure and ever glittering gold! Look how cute is Padmini in this song!

I have seen an interview in which PK said that Anita was his student in music class. Not sure what is her ancestry.

Anyway I am posting one of the earliest Tamil pop songs by Malgudi Shubha. I remember watching it as a small kid in DD. It was way ahead of its time.

I remember watching this during my school days, a very good one. Also, there used to be an audio album called 'Dance Party' by Pop Shalini, Devan and many new singers of that time, I liked all the songs from that album. I have been trying to find MP3 of that album, but no luck.

This is a song from Thiru Bharathidasan, whose was mentored and who took great inspiration from Mahakavi Thiru Bharathiyaar.

This is the film version from the film Or Iravu, the story/screenplay of which was written by the former CM of Tamilnadu Mr.Annadurai and produced by AVM.

This is a classical version sung by Mrs. Sudha Raghunathan.

Though Thiru.Bharathidasan was mentored by Mahakavi Thiru Subramanya Bharathi, unlike his mentor, he never used Sanskrit words in his work and his work always reflected a pure version of the Tamil language.

Lol

I have seen her long back and I could not recognise her now. She has become so old.

I remember her visit to western ghats near our place and she recorded the tribals singing old folk songs.

Licit Mortal,

I agree with you that Malgudi Shuba has a very different & sexy voice.

If you can post only the audio of the song, it would be better as the picturisation is vulgar and spoils the beauty.
