Update on N.Rampart/St.Claude Avenue streetcar project:

Yes but the newer lines might benefit if there was a fleet of modern LRV's to augment the classics in day to day service.

The St. Charles line is very busy (at least when I was there). Are they able to decrease the headways?

Today, the 2.2 km streetcar extension between Canal Street & Rampart - Elysian Fields Avenue (North Rampart Street) was inagurated. To coincide with opening, Loyola-UPT Streetcar line was renamed into Loyola-Rampart line:
