It's only a single storey terminal but I can't help but say "Wow!". It looks so nice, with the lighting accents or what have you. It looks world class but let's wait for the new terminal, the one with aerobridges and we might have our jaws dropped.

^ Two storeys actually. The pre-departure area is on the second floor. Yes I love how the screens are flat and actually display very useful travel information. The facilities are really very well-maintained. Pati pagreresibo ng terminal fee, computerized. The airport will be operated for 25 years by TransAir, hope all the airports in the country will be privatized as well.

I stand corrected. Wow! I don't recognize the airport terminal anymore! Ang ganda, super! It has a hotel/resort feel that appeals to the high taste. I wonder what happened to the older terminal. Is it there or is it slated to be demolished?

I think the new terminal itself is the old one renovated.

Notice the half arc "connecting" the two-storey pre-departure and the single-storey arrival area.

Buti pa ang MPH maliit lang na airport, pero modern ang facilities. If they can do it in such a small airport, why not in our premier gateway and other bigger airports. Haist!!! Palitan na ang mga TV monitor sa NAIA3 at palitan na ng Flat Screen LED Screens. Maglagay ng malawak ng Flight Information Board like the one in Changi, Chek Lap Kok, Suvarnabhumi etc. I-donate nalang nila ang mga old TV screens nila sa mga poor people na walang TV. Hahaha.

Impressive transformation of the terminal indeed. If the government can apply this standard to the rest of our aging small provincial terminals, it will tell a bigger story to the world. Good job on the airport model but at least the paved sides of the runway at the reclaimed portion could have shown. In the end, this will be the most sought after airport to land by pilots and enthusiast alike. The only kind with underpass at both ends. Will this spell the fate of Kalibo?

I think Kalibo will not close but be delegated to secondary status. IMO, it should serve as an alternative international gateway for low-cost airlines that wants to steer clear from the high-cost fees that are planned to be levied in the future.

If the bigger terminal with aerobridges will be built, what would happen to this beautiful little terminal kaya? Would they still retain it at least for turbo-props and/or domestic traffic? Sana huwag nila sirain to in the future kasi sobrang ganda.

That is the beauty of a private company. I hope that all airport in Phil will be handle by one private company.

private company will do best job as they want profit, compare to government they just reap people. Government think is just collecting tax from your pocket and it your obligation to pay and no obligation to them to return it back by service.

Filipinos need to be proactive and need to ask for more and know how to kick the ass of batugan and magnanakaw na politiko.
