It's February 27, 2012, exactly three weeks before the Sky Pasada Bacólod-Boracay flight will commence. Excited to see the inaugural flight pictures of the flight. I hope to see pictures here for the Aklan side for both Aklan and Negros rocks the whole region!

Yes it will gonna happen no doubt about it! if San Miguel Corp. invest to have a World class Airport in the future hiring an Architect with HARVARD diploma an so on ... KLO will be an option then if they think for cost or something but Zest Air will remain KLO as there hub once the Apron there will be widen there plan is to have 2 Airbus remain overnight in KLO. anyway both in Aklan

They can actually build the runway extension first..there are no night flights in Caticlan as of now right? They can work graveyard shift. Start after the last flight and end before the first flight the next day..

Damn this bureaucratic red tape, this(project) should start now!

I hope these types of airports will be replicated in other tourist destinations:

on my wish list:

1. Caramoan Peninsula
2. Puerto Galera
3. Balabac, Palawan
4. Tawi-Tawi
5. Kalayaan Islands

Puerto Galera has nearby Calapan Airport as the aviation gateway and some chartered turboprops are landing there for tourists. I wonder why there are no regular commercial flights to Calapan as Puerto Galera is a popular tourist destination already.

CPP is probably too close to MNL to make air travel viable. Yes, most people go there by boat since it only takes about 2-3 hours from Manila to get there.

Yep because its close to Metro Manila and the airfare would not be that reasonable enough.

I guess its really just too close to Metro Manila. Went there twice and the longest it took is 4 hours while shortest is 3 hours. On research, I did discover though that SEAir has a permit to fly there but has not done so maybe due to that practical reason

Anyway, sorry for the OT.

Sana yung Balabac, Palawan magawan din ng airport. Parang okay din na pumunta dyan.

Boracay airport terminal to be transferred to nearby town

BORACAY Island, Aklan, March 08 (PNA) -- The terminal of the Boracay Airport (Caticlan) will be transferred to the nearby Nabas, Aklan once its operator San Miguel Corporation (SMC) takes over its full operation in the coming years.

Nabas Vice Mayor James Solanoy said in an interview that he had already met with the executives of SMC and the people of Nabas welcome the idea.

Based on its original concept, SMC will operate the airport in Malay, Aklan. But, business analysts said that the decision of SMC to transfer the airport terminal to Nabas would further provide the corporation with additional revenues since Nabas town offers cheaper local government tax as compared to Malay.

“Based on what I know, Nabas town will be the venue of the 75 percent property share of the airport once it is completed and the remaining 25 percent will be in Malay,” Solanoy said.

This means that Malay town will only be benefited as tailend runway of the airport while the nearby Nabas town will hold the arrival and departure area of tourists bound for Boracay.

“I suppose that the current terminal area of Boracay Airport in Caticlan will be used as office space of SMC,” said Solanoy.

“We do not care if SMC continues its plan to rename it as Boracay Airport in Nabas as long as our people and our local government would be benefited from the said improvement,” Solanoy said. (PNA)

If you are familiar of the location it is obvious that 75% of the Development is part of Nabas, Aklan and 25%is part of Caticlan, Malay it includes the present terminal and the Tailend of the Runway, wow this Terminal will be converted into SMC office once the project completed.

Oo yung pinaka Main Terminal sa Nabas sya natapat the whole complex of this Airport 75% is belong to Nabas and only 25% is belong to Malay town so most of the development will be in Nabas side. at ang current Terminal na ginagamit ng MPH will be transform into Office once the Project Completed. Same case with (NAIA) Paranaque and Pasay in smaller scale.
