Cognizant Bantala SEZ

The 4,000-seater centre is inside the Bantala special economic zone.
The second campus of the CTS spread over 20 acres land, will be developed in three phases. The first phase of the facility, a LEED-certified green building, has a capacity to accommodate over 4,000 professionals.

The company has invested around Rs.200 crore for the construction of the first phase. After the completion of the project, the Bantala campus will accommodate around 16,000 professionals.

The Bengal Shriram Township Project in Uttarpara has started construction, so I guess the IT Park will be built in due time.
Also, The Calcutta Riverside project @ Batanagar is in full swing & the IT Zone will definitely come up.
Not sure of the status of Technopolis II or SP Infocity though.

Dhunseri IT Park U/C

Dhunseri has commenced the setting up of an information technology (IT) complex in the IT and ITenabled services (ITeS) SEZ at Bantala on the south-eastern fringes of Kolkata. Dhunseri IT Park is being developed on approximately six acres of land and will consist of a twin tower with a total built-up area of about 719,000 square feet.It is expected to generate 7,000 jobs, once completed. The first phase was expected to be completed by 2011.

Great to hear that someone other than Cognizant is developing infrastructure there. IMO, Bantala IT zone has better civic infrastructure such as roads, overall space and drainage than Sector V, only if they can solve the tannery issues, companies and hotels can setup shop in the zone. Also the govt needs to widen Kolkata-Basanti highway to 2x2 lanes though

This is the other big IT SEZ project after Infospace. Kinda getting a little nervous about this project since they brought the 50 acres more than 3 years back and have done nothing with it. It came out in the media that they are waiting for the govt to build infrastructure. However there is a basic 3X3 road , so not sure if they are awaiting other approvals or not. Partha C may want to rap up the govt and company officials inorder to get this one going.

Even DLF 2 is an IT SEZ....so it is the 3rd one.
