^A number of apartment projects are in the works or under construction.

Since this graphic was first published, K2 started site prep and Parcel A at Lakeshore East and 500 North Lake Shore Drive are u/c.

Also, here is the recently proposed redevelopment of Atrium Village, which will consist of four buildings of 28, 36, 41 and 44 stories.

Chicago is starting to get its mojo back.

I thought that Chicago supposedly had cutting-edge architecture. It's a sea of cheap boxes and is adding more of them.

I love how when Modern became 'cool again' it gave so many developers and their hack architects license to spew out endless cheap, highly profitable and banal boxes, a condition hardly confined to Chcago. That said, these towers do have a bit more glassy appeal than your run-of the-mill Costas Kondylis nightmare.

I disagree. I'd rather call it a sea of elegant boxes making a great, original and balanced skyline.

Still the best skyline in N.A and these cheap boxes still look better than most of the sh!t currently going up around the country. Every building is not going to be drop dead gorgeuos.

Chicago needs more exciting designs. This is cookie cutter and boring. Enough of the filler buildings. I thought the Aqua would set a new standard. Obviously, it hasn't.

^
Rentals rarely get the starchitecture treatment that condos do. It's just nice to see towers rising in Chi-Town again!

What's wrong with this tower? I think it's a really nice little scraper.
