JS Gaisano definitely was an excellent mall under John's management. I remember the Mall's excellent restos, Cafe Ilustrado, Barrio Gaisano, Prego and Picobello.

German firm mulls housing project

By Jereco O. Paloma
Friday, November 25, 2011

A GERMAN firm has sought the City Council's approval for their multi-million-dollar housing development project and eco-friendly housing construction materials production plant in the city's Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

In its letter to the City Council, Ralf Klet, representative of C3 House to the Philippines, requested the Council's support in the form of information regarding their proposed project in the city.

"These (pieces of) information are essential for our feasibility study to evaluate whether it is feasible to locate a manufacturing plant for our C3 House products in Davao," Klet said in its letter.

Peter Werner, chief executive officer of C3 House, in his letter to the Davao City Investment and Incentive Board, said their company is mulling to build two factory units in the city.

Werner said they plan to establish a pre-fabricated manufacturing plant for affordable but sustainable houses in the Association of Southeast Asian Nation (Asean) region.

Werner said their products are primarily made of IP-protected innovative natural composite panels (NCP) sourced from local agriculture.

On the other hand, Councilor Marissa Salvador-Abella, who chairs the committee on environment, said the project will not only help the city - by providing eco-friendly housing projects - it will also boost the city's local economy.

Abella said this is one of the recommendations during the green urbanization forum a few months ago.

The number of housing units, which will be built, will primarily depend both on the demands of local and Asean countries.

I thought you were the user 'blusoda' because of your avatar.

Congratulation Davao!! I like how we are well known as an 'Eco-friendly' city.

I hope our government does something to our drainage system, though, especially in R.Castillo, where the streets keeps flooding even if it's not raining.
