Meanwhile, Dizon, through the American Chamber of Commerce, said they requested American Consul Michael Schmell to isolate urban Davao in the negative travel advisory issued by the US government prohibiting American nationals to travel to Mindanao.
Dizon said the US Consult was in Davao City three months ago as guest of the Chamber's General Membership Meeting.
He said they endorsed through the Consul their letter request of which the American official said that the request would be forwarded to the Federal Government in Washington, DC.
Dizon said that "not one life of US citizens was in danger as foreigners and American businessmen are in Davao and doing business here".
Although Dizon was not keen of getting a 100 percent positive response to their request, he was still hopeful that new development would come.
He said I think the advisory was outdated the fact that some of their nationals/businessmen were here now. (PNA)

Davao - 700,000 tourists, more than 95% yata ay sa Davao City.. sa status ng Cebu eh marami namang cities and mostly nasa Mactan ang mga tourist attraction...

uhmmm.... @vladimirlev layo ra ang Davao sa Cebu...... kay ang Davao lapad ug yuta, the largest in the country so most probably spread out and urban sprawl..... dili pareha sa Cebu na compressed kaayo ang mga buildings. Tungod ana ang Davao kay dili mo pareha sa Cebu..... most likely ang Davao mo pareha sa Los Angeles, USA... same terrain, same sprawl...... even ang development pareha.... like traffic lights same technology. Even my american buddy whose name is Ron acknowledge the similarity between Davao and LA..... o dba...? So ayaw i-compare kay layo ra ang Davao sa Cebu.... as for the buildings since murag mao ma na imong punto nga lamang ang Cebu.... Well Cebu got more pero who knows? Davao got projects of our own as well and very light pa ang market more room for more projects...... so who knows.... and by the way...... advantage sa Davao ang kadako sa yuta, rich in real state unlike Cebu's limited land.... peace brotha
