Argentina have been my second team for the last 15 years, since they nearly scored the try of the century at Twickenham and were unlucky to lose - I love the way they play the game and their fans are brilliant. I'd love to see them beat Scotland and give New Zealand a stuffing in the quarter-finals.

Outside rugby I still harbour the desire to visit the country, ride horses in the pampas, and learn the tango in Buenos Aires. Sadly, the country's leaders seem to be a constant succession of twatfaced cockweasels who try to gloss over their own problems by stirring up the Argentinian equivalent of Sun readers into a nationalistic frenzy ever so often, which leads to the kind of tit-for-twattery these threads invariably end up in.

¡VAMOS PUMAS! LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!

So lets just ignore the facts Argentina has no claim over the islands at this moment at all, as they are British..

Stop using multiple identities Alfa - no one is interested. Argentina can yap about the Falklands as much as it likes but the country only has a total Defence Budget amounting to something like £2.5 Billion. I would love to know what kind of SSN you are going to develop on that kind of money - I am guessing a crap one.

Current British Astute SSN's cost £1 Billion each and are problably the most advanced in the world.

As for Argentina claiming it controls the Falklands, who cares what Argentina claims. Apparently Argentina also claims control of Disneyland and Narnia as well.

I certainly won't be losing any sleep over the Argies and their daft claims made by their increasingly undemocratic regime.

well said, charlie.

it might surprise argentinians (because of the the amount of bile this topic always causes from the scumbags of the net) but i personally, as an englishman, have nothing but respect and interest for your country and sporting culture. and i wish we could just finally resolve this stupid ongoing island dispute and get on with it.

Solution: Evacuate all residents from the island, both nations bomb the shit out of it till it's completely uninhabitable for anyone, then sign an agreement that they will share any future oil reserves found in the area.

Cowards? Alfa, you can have the islands, just send your forces over again and take them. No?

There is no ‘conflict’, which is why we’re not sat at the negotiation table. It’s our sovereign territory and the only thing that is going to change that is a successful invasion. You’re welcome to try again.

There is no evidence to support the argentine claim, the longest period of history you could even consider the islands as Argentine were for the couple of weeks you controlled them after your failed invasion. On the other hand, we’ve occupied them for centuries. Come try and get them, or get over it.

The correct answer was 'this bit here'.

Fair enough. One of my favourite pianists, Martha Argerich, is Argentine. She’s an amazing talent, one of the best in the world. Argentina is probably filled with a lot of great and interesting people rather than insufferable twats like AlfaBeta, but what does it have to do with the sovereignty of The Falklands?
