That show was terrible, glad it got canned. It was a complete low budget carbon copy of the UK one.

It would have been more successful if it had better hosts imo.

Even I used to love Top Gear UK and I'm a totez fag.

Watched 5 mins of the Australian version once. It was shite. Channel 9 seems to take pleasure in ruining things (though it was SBS' fault for buying the franchise, really).

Channel 9 really are shocking.

Only show I watch on 9 is the Big Bang Theory.

Used to? It's still great! Make sure you download the UK one though. Better music and good stuff like the news segment not cut out (in the UK it runs for close to an hour without ads each episode - they butcher it for the International audience).

The Aus one I watched but one episode on an vowed never to watch the shite again.

Never even new there was an Aussie version. The UK one is getting a bit tired though but I only watch it for the cars.

I have huge hopes for the new show 'Joy of Sets' starting next Tuesday night with Tony Martin.

But given it's on Nein, it may be in vein. I fear it'll be on at a sexy new time of 1am or farmed off to GO! within a few weeks.

Roo: I'll have to keep an eye of Joy of Sets, Tony Martin is up there with Micallef IMO.

Clarkson/Hammond/May are arguably TV's best trio, they just bounce off each other and make Top Gear UK what it is - entertaining as!

Any attempt to replicate that was always doomed to failure. Like most threads in this forum.

Even the UK version is decending into a parody of a car show, with the odd car review surrounded by dodgy comedy skits veiled as challenges.

Glad the Aussie one is gone. If I wanted to watch a shit car show hosted by a pack of personality bypasses I would watch Fifth Gear.

Agree. He recently had a fair bit to do with Judith Lucy's Spiritual Journey as well I think (which was absolutely hillar). I'm looking forward (IE hoping) to seeing a solid show out of him. The aussie version of TV Burp (an otherwise awesome UK show) failled on channel 7, so hopefully this effective re-work will do much better.

What's 'Joy of Sets'?

Meanwhile I'm on a tram right now and posting this using the SSC app. The future is here!

2010 called. It wants its excitement over having a new SSC app back.
