You'd think of a bigger airport for one of the busiest in LatAm right! lol

Con estas ampliaciones se calcula que en 2020 CUN estará manejando al menos 32 millones de pasajeros. A continuación, dos ilustraciones de las obras, cortesía de German RGL en otro espacio:

Nice update of construction of Cancun's new terminal T4 and additional concourse at T3. Let's see if they are sufficient to respond to the airport's growing demand in the next years. Unfortunately, most of both private and state- owned airports in Mexico run always short of the demand. However, I must say that Cancun's operator has built better infrastructures than others and, for example, it's at this moment the only Mexican airport with two runways able to run simultaneous operations.

Cheers

I was wondering if anyone local might know this. Before the 2nd runway was built it seemed like arrivals were always on Runway 12 and departures were on Runway 12. After the 2nd runway was built it seemed like arrivals were on 12L and departures were on 12R.

Lately on flightradar24 i have noticed flights landing and taking off in the opposite direction on Runways 30L and 30R.

Is this just because of wind direction or perhaps some new general approach to takeoffs and landings in Cancun?
