I'm really pleased that you enjoyed them. I really like Turkey. Not just because of the beautiful colours, but because the people are so wonderfully hospitable.

We forgive you the "poor quality" of the last serial of old pictures. Are they photoscans or taken with a cheap camera? Not that bad at all. My oldies are much worse.
Anyway, lovely thread and the ones on the first page are even better than your Liverpool-pics. Very colourful and great shots! I've visited the same region about 20 years ago and I agree: The people are so hospitable and welcoming. Like in the rest of the Middle East, I would say. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming, Jane! |

I'm glad you all like them. My camera - a Panasonic Lumix is at its best in sunshine; it tends not to respond well to overcast skies - which is why the pictures of Turkey are so vivid.
You'll have to wait, I'm afraid, for my next trip before I can post any more. |

Nice pictures! Why do you not combine next time a visit to turkey with a day trip to one of the greek islands? The same atmosphere and sometimes an even more unspoilt nature!

![]() But I particularly like Turkish hospitality and the sights, sounds and flavours of Turkey. Also,to be honest, small islands do not contain enough cultural interest for me, and I'm not a beach type of person - so a day trip would be a waste of time when I could spend that time exploring further the mainland in Turkey. |
