Aerial view of the site, on the left of the current tallest, Torre Alicante (T/O, 130m) and Torre Málaga (120m, second tallest):

Maison Héritage (left) showing up over the trees as seen from across the lake. Torre Alicante (centre) and Torre Málaga (right):

I never even heard of Londrina before today. I guess the skyline is very recent?

The design is very Brazilian. A new midrise white tower in a sea of midrise white towers. It won't be recognizable when it is finished.

![]() The glassy residential towers of Vancouver or Toronto look all the same to me. We have the same "problem" in New York, Hong Kong, Gold Coast, Tokyo, Athens, Berlin or Rotterdam. So it's not a "Brazilian thing" to have similar residential towers. Also, 142 m is not a "midrise" and as you can see in the skyline photos, there are buildings of all colours not only white. Quote:
Anyhow, about the skyline, Gleba Palhano's (the booming district across the lake) is brand new. Debuted in 2000's. Downtown's however, is almost as old as the city: by the 1940's, the traditional wooden houses started to be replaced by highrises, giving Londrina a very powerful skyline for a city with her size. For further information and old photos, go to my thread NORTE do PARANÁ - 80 Anos (1929-2009). |

![]() Well, it must be a case of elective blindness, because they are all different. Of course there isn't any shaped as a sphere, but I don't think that's common elsewhere either. |

At least the towers in this city are nice, unlike that tacky cluster of buildings in dubai which also look very much the same.

![]() To me, it's better to stick with the plain than to the tacky. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last week of April 2012 image hosted on flickr ![]() Londrina - Gleba Palhano 3 por FM_photos, no Flickr image hosted on flickr ![]() Londrina - Gleba Palhano 5 por FM_photos, no Flickr Mr.Ffff (SSC) |
