Land clearing is still on progress behind those project lines... banner is going to be fully covered to the whole area in a very short time prior to start constructions phase.

For sure bro... The smallest one on the right side is clinic and the bigger one is on the left is VVIP building.. They are going to be demolished and temporarily will occupy some spaces at the 2nd floor of B Square untill the whole new terminal is fully completed and operated..
Keep rocking for Indonesia bro... I will keep this thread posted with a significant progress on a weekly basis if necessary.. It is going to be good if the official website (airport) also do the same things. Project progress with site pictures. Last edited by balikpapan; September 26th, 2011 at 02:20 PM. |

![]() Don't worry, just do it if you really have a time for it... I also hope that they will provide more information on their website... But you know, those officials are a bit sucks on that kind of stuff... So I think we will be on our own...

Source : Bisnis Indonesia Keyword : Category : Air Transport File : Bandara Sepinggan diperluas.pdf Teken from : http://www.indii.co.id/news_daily_detail.php?id=1617 Sepinggan Airport Expanded Angkasa Pura I allocates investment of Rp1, 6trillion BALIKPAPAN: PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) has begun to realise the expansion project of Sepinggan International Airport of Balikpapan, East Kalimantan Province, by investing Rp1.6 trillion. With that expansion, Sepinggan Airport is designed to accommodate 10 million passengers in 2020. President Director of Angkasa Pura I, Tommy Soetomo, said that, in accordance with its development plan, the area of Sepinggan terminal will reach 110,000m2, almost a nine-fold increase compared to the current condition. "The current terminal is too crowded, with a capacity of only 1.7million passengers per year. Whereas the number of passengers passing through Sepinggan Airport has already reached 5.5 million people per year," he said yesterday. The terminal area enlargement, he explained, is expected to be able to accommodate the movement of passengers using the airport. Passenger growth each year in Sepinggan Airport reaches eight percent "Of the total around Rp 1.6 trillion funding, around Rp 300 billion is disbursed until the end of this year. The expansion project is expected for completion in May 2013," he said. He added that in addition to the expansion of Sepinggan Airport, the company is also upgrading the quality of facilities and infrastructures of all the airports under AP I’s management. "The total investment to be made to fund the project over the next two years reaches Rp 6 trillion. So far the total fund has come from internal cash." Public relations officer of Sepinggan International Airport Expansion Project, Handy Heryudhitiawan, said his office is working on some parts of the project that may be implemented such as clearing land next to the airport’s VIP lounge. "Our target is that 30 percent of the project can already be completed," he said. In line with schedule AP I’s Director of Commercial and Business Development, Robert Daniel Waloni, added that the on-going development of Sepinggan Airport is a right step in helping improve the economy of East Kalimantan. "We hope that the completion of this project can be done on schedule," he said. According to him, the delay of this project undertaking will have a direct impact on airport operations because the [existing] prediction of passenger growth is different from the growth in the future. In line with the Sepinggan Airport expansion plan, Tommy is targeting that revenues from non-core businesses such as cargo terminal, parking and advertising can be boosted. "We are targeting the portion of non-aero business to contribute a revenue portion of up to 27 percent until the end of the year from the current position of 23 percent," he said. Tommy assessed that the non-aero business factor needs to be thought of when developing an airport. With an adequate area, opportunities to develop non-aero businesses become more open. "Ideally, non-aero businesses can be a major support for an international airport." Robert said that if the airport condition is very cramped, this will constrain the development of non-aero businesses because passengers will be reluctant to stay long at the airport. At the same time with the start of the Sepinggan Airport expansion project, AP I’s board of directors has appointed Herry Sikado as the new General Manager of Sepinggan Airport and Wendo Asrul Rose as the Leader of Sepinggan Airport Development Project.
