or other places with the same white sand and beautiful beaches..para hindi naman magsawa yung mga tao sa iisang lugar..

I stayed at Davao Marco Polo. Nice place. There are a bunch of fruit stalls right outside the entrance. However, you can't take the durian that you buy from the fruit stalls into the hotel.

I also went to Pearl Farm in Davao... now that was a cooooool place. Anyone have pics of it? Or reviews of it?

They already have it. Starwood's (Westin) management contract ended in Dec. 31, 2005. In the agreement with Accor, the hotel will be operating under the name Hotel Philippine Plaza while it undergoes facelifts, renovations, etc. The hotel will be reintroduced as the Sofitel Philippine Plaza in 2007.

SM in talks with firms to run Cebu City hotel

MANILA - SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SMPHI) is in “serious” negotiations with two foreign companies in the international hotel business for the management and operation of the hotel building next to SM City Cebu at the Cebu City north reclamation area.

SMPHI president Hans Sy told news reporters yesterday that he cannot say “anything concrete” yet about the negotiations.

“The negotiation level has gone up...to serious stage,” Sy said, declining to elaborate.

He said, though, that SMPHI is looking for a partner that will “put in equity” in the hotel, which remains closed.

The hotel was supposed to be managed by Sheraton but the international hotel firm pulled out of its partnership with SM Investments Corp. The building reportedly needs four to six months to finish.

Equity

Sy said the company deems it better that the firm that will manage and operate the hotel will put in equity.

As for future projects in Cebu, Sy said SMPHI focus on developing a “supercen-ter”—a complex of hyper-market (large supermarket) and small retail shops—which would have been implemented on the Cebu Province-owned lot, had the company won the bid for the property along Archbishop Reyes Ave.

Hans, the son of Henry Sr., said the company is looking for a site of its future projects in Cebu. Although he did not reveal the ideal location of its future projects, he said the company is looking for a property with an area of at least three hectares.

Potentials

“We see potentials in Cebu. We would have developed a supercenter (in Banilad),” he said at the end of a press conference on the opening of the Mall of Asia at the SM Central Business Park in Bay City, Pasay City.

The Mall of Asia (MOA), dubbed the biggest mall of SMPHI and its “most ambitious” project, so far, will open on Sunday.

The MOA has a gross floor area of 386,224 square meters(38.6224 hectares), is designed to house 600 retail stores and 150 restaurants.

Mall parking area can accommodate 5,000 private vehicles, 100 slots for buses, and 5,000 square meters for public transportation.

Among its main attractions are the 600-seat Imax theater, Olympic-size ice skating rink, six cinemas with 3,000-total seating capacity, a premier cinema and Centerstage theater with 900 seats.

The MOA, according to a statement from SMPHI, was built at a cost of P6.5 billion and took two and half years to complete.

While the SMPHI currently has 25 malls all over the country—including newly-opened SM Clark—Hans Sy is confident the shopping centers will have their markets.

“We are a nation of mall-goers with millions flocking to our air-conditioned alls daily and more so on weekends,” he said in a company statement.

SMPHI will open SM Supercenter Pasig and SM City Lipa within the year.

The younger Sy said he expects the MOA to generate employment for about 10,000.

Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons are both American right? I'm wondering kung bakit di pa sila nag iinvest sa Philippines considering "medyo kahit kakarampot" lang eh sikat tayo sa mga Kano.
