"HSBC Birmingham

New headquarter building in the heart of Birmingham, England.

2,000 jobs will be transferring from London to Birmingham, which will be the new UK headquarters for personal & business banking. HSBC joins Deutsche Bank, a relatively new addition to Birmingham's banking sector."

In Birmingham you say? Birmingham's thriving heart and CBD? At the beating heart of the city of Birmingham? Birmingham, England? Sorry, all in good humour

Correct me if I'm wrong but the new Moda development should be directly across from the Left Bank towers?

Should make for a nice little cluster, especially when approaching from the south.

Yes it will. The image below shows where the new Moda tower will be, the two Left Bank Towers are currently under construction across the road, just to the right of the image.

All three buildings will be in the centre of the image below, taken from the Cube Building.

So this cluster, 103 Colmore Row and 3 Snowhill should give Brum's skyline a very even look. I'll look forward to taking the Chiltern from Marylebone in a couple of years time then!

HS2

London to Birmingham

Construction start: 2017
Completion: 2026

The first major mainline railway terminus to be constructed in a UK city centre in the 21st Century needs a big vacant site ........

....... all set to go in the heart of the city.

The immediate environment today, close to the City Centre.

Indicative designs for the new Curzon Street terminus & Metro interchange.

HSBC Building

More of this building from JayPeeDee. No apologies, this development is a real game changer for the city. A major coup attracting another major bank away from London joining Deutsche Bank a few hundred metres away, and will be a catalyst for further developments in the City Centre & along Broad Street.

Typhoo Wharf

Work to start on £200m city centre bars, restaurants and arts studios.

http://www.birminghampost.co.uk/busi...entre-12732508

"Work is set to start next year on the long-awaited revamp of the old Typhoo Tea building in Digbeth which will create new bars and art studios.

Birmingham-based developer Stoford has been appointed to lead the £200 million redevelopment which encompasses an area off Bordesley Street including Typhoo Wharf, the former Typhoo Tea building and the adjoining canal basin.

This is where tea used to arrive in Birmingham from London.

This area has been identified as a key regeneration opportunity and catalyst for growth within Birmingham City Council's Big City Plan, due in part to its close proximity to the planned HS2 terminal in Curzon Street."

The derelict factory site close to the City Centre.

"At least one million sq ft of development is anticipated which will include grade A office space, incubator space for small businesses, bars and restaurants, artist studios and homes.

The original 1930s building will be converted as part of the regeneration and new buildings will be added."

The renders for this have always been considered pretty poor by Birmingham forumers.
