What happened? Where do we go from here?
Hello everyone,
It has been a while since many of us were active on these forums. Many of us dropped the game and moved onto other games or others moved onto other simcity websties. Others became disillusioned with the lack of continuity with Sim City 5 and just dropped out of society and became anarcho-primitivists somewhere in Oregon or the Urals. It must be admitted, too, that the lives we lead outside these forums also affect the time we can give to this game, the forums and our simcities. After all, many things have happened outside these forums, people have gotten married and their new wives threw their SC4 games out, others lost their homes and by extension their computers...still others took up three or four part times to make ends meet... Well, this might be a little exaggeration. But what has happened to us? How did it become that the simcity section on SkyscraperCity got so small and pushed even behind the scale models and 2D drawings?!?!?! I am planning to restart the game. I'm putting my new computer to work. New regions, new buildings, new city planning concepts etc. If folks that frequented these sites feel like it is hopeless and that instead they would rather move to Simtropolis then so be it. I'll see you there, but just let me know what happened and if you want to stay here...I always felt this was a tight online community and enjoyed spending hours preparing a new update to show the folks on these forums. Anyway, I don't want to make this too long. Hope to see you around here.

I still play, though I never feel like my cities are impressive enough to show off. My largest city has almost 890,000, and my region's got about 1.3 million. I've still got a lot of work to do, but I haven't dropped the game. Besides, a new NAM just came out.

Nice job! I think it was the whole USCN thing moving or something...I never really understood that stuff so whatever. I want to start playing soon, I have the game but I never really got back into it. Maybe once I do and make a good looking city, I will post it here. |

What's strange is that I've been a big SimCity fan since playing Classic on my old IBM Aptiva back in 97-98. Started playing SimCity 2000, loved it, and then moved on to SimCity 3000 where I would build a nice city but the program would always crash after I had reached 100,000 people.
But I've never taken the time to really play SimCity 4. And seeing how Maxis/EA decided to have "SimCity 5" play more like The Sims than SimCity, I really should sit down one day and start building beyond the tutorials in 4. |

I never posted much in here anyway. My cities were nothing much to look at. However, I just installed SC4 on my laptop and a bunch of mods so once I figure out how in the hell to use them maybe I'll come up with something worth showing off.
I have been actively playing Cities XL 2009 (computer can't run 11 or 12) this whole time too. Not sure why the game gets a bad rap, I enjoy it every bit as much as Sim City. |

I've been largely distracted with official duties I have taken on at non-Sim City sites, but I've been playing of late and may get together some pictures of my most recent projects.
