I didn't thought Düsseldorf was that beautiful.

And a good job of photographing indeed.

Great pictures as always, Kampflamm! Enjoyed it very much. Düsseldorf is really a nice, neat, stylish and relaxed city.

Thanks. Yeah, it feels far richer than many other cities in the region. I still think Cologne should have been the capital of NRW though.

True. But it already is the biggest and in those days was too close to Bonn, the former Bundeshauptstadt.

Well, the katakana somewhat makes sense, considering Dusseldorf's significant Japanese community.

...such interesting and different architecture in this city I've said it before - the new harbour area looks just amazing. Thanks for sharing, Kampflamm

1 of 3 buildings designed by Frank Gehry. You can also see a 2nd one in this shot:

Nice pictures of a city we don't see too much on SSC. BTW, is it a boring city like Frankfurt?

Frankfurt is boring?

I don't think Ddorf is boring. I guess you could call it an average German city. It has a nice "old town" with plenty of pubs and a great shopping area. Not necessarily anything to write home about but it's an ok place.

I know they're disputable, but mercer rankings put Ddorf in top ten of most liveable cities in the world. The city must be doing something right. Love the modern architecture, including the whimsical building.
