SCLR is santacruz chembur link road, one of the biggest infra project undertaken to join western and eastern suburbs.
For construction site pic see pg 3
There is truck terminal, metro monorail casting yard, J kumar, Shirkes casting yard plus some other cement mixing plants, everythin surrounds this site. As MMRDA runs out of land in BKC, they will start auctioning off the above lands for commercial purposes.so everything now around this site is temporary except d monorail depot ofcz

If you mean a CBD like BKC where mostly MNCs in financial /consulting sector have their high-end jobs - I doubt it because BKC itself is hardly utilised at 10% of its full potential. BKC has enough space to accomodate CBD kinda jobs for the next 15-20 years atleast

If you mean an office cluster like Andheri or Lower Parel, there is a good probability. But nothing much can be expected in the next 3-4 years as the existing clusters like Andheri, Lower Parel and Malad have ample space ready for possession and significant supply in pipleine too.

Face of Mumbai? Not sure. Maybe one of the armpits of Mumbai. Look guys, there is a lot of hype around Lodha. Their spin doctors are aware of this and are hard at work in building an image - the number of ads recently in Bombay papers that they have released about "delivered" projects is an indicator. The project certainly sounds exciting and the work on site suggestes the seriousness, but this is an expensive project and theres a long way to go. I only hope the group is able to sustain its funding sources.

For example, I heard in Shanghai, only the city center gives it an impressive "face", but everything around it is dirty, I heard it from my friend who travels to Shanghai a lot. Even in New York City, this is the case. This is what I meant when I said that, city center is the most important in giving the city a good look. So, my hope is that, if New Cuffe Parade looks impressive (as the city center), it should change the generic face of Mumbai.

yes, its true, I went to shanghai on a business trip about 7 months ago... although the city looks great, there's still lots and lots to do.. and yeah there are many dirty places around... mostly because these high rises so expensive that most shanghaians cannot afford...

So no iconic tower then?

Looks like a residential tower will be built & that of modest proportions.
