Justin Bieber has more global success and recognition than grime as a genre. That alone isn't an indicator of greatness. Grime isn't even a decade old.

If this was the only song that will be associated with the Olympics, then I can understand your indignation. However, there will be more songs for the Olympics as time progresses. No song will fit everyone's taste.

Musically/culturally, London isn't a city that conforms with what the world wants it to look or sound like. There's people on the front page of the YouTube comments that want Welshwoman Katherine Jenkins to belt out an opera number for the Olympic torch relay?! There's others that want Royal marching bands and orchestras to accompany the baton. How stereotypical.

I agree.

I just think we should slap the producer(s), not the artist choice or genre.

Yep, that's some incredibly poor & cheesy production right there. It could've been half-decent but the beat ruined it.

It is currently registering 13,290 views on YouTube; let's see if it achieves any attention from the wider world that validates your point.
One week later, and that video is the 3rd most viewed music video in the world... with over 2.5mn views in its first week.

Doesn't seem like UK rap/grime/dubstep/garage etc. music is laughed at by other countries, according to this reception.

Elbow promise 'epic' Olympics track

http://uk.omg.yahoo.com/news/elbow-p...092600704.html

Rockers Elbow have promised fans they can expect an "epic" sound when they release the official BBC soundtrack to the 2012 London Olympics.

The band landed the honour of writing the theme tune for the highly-anticipated sporting event's coverage on the revered network, and they have come up with a six-minute track.

Bassist Pete Turner insists sports followers can expect a tune to match the gravitas of the Olympics, as it will feature a huge gospel choir and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

He tells Noise11, "That was really good. Just an area that we've never explored, really, writing something specifically for something else. And it was great; really good fun.

"It's a pretty epic tune. It's got the Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Community Gospel on it. I'm looking forward to hearing that. I think it gets its first airing in March."

Sounds promising. Hope it is as good as it's stated, the BBC usually does tend to come up with legendary theme music. I really liked the Beijing 2008 soundtrack.

I hope they do find the time to add 'Proud' by Heather Small in there somewhere, after for all (for me personally, and I imagine many others) it was where it all began back in the days of the bid. She may not be the biggest or best singer we could have, but the song IS London 2012 and would be a brilliant addition to the musical roster.

Ah, I thought it sounded too much of an obvious cash in when someone told me.

malaysia team song = keakhir garisan(end of line)

commenced, a precise measure
the same gripe a thousand dreams
will not give up easily
open your step

looked to the sky
wide expectations
sun-like radiation
Detonate now waiting for burning

reviving your soul
and Spread your Wings
Fly into the air
surge is yourself

reviving our heart
breathing like fire
lighten up your spirit
do not stop until

End of line

-MALAY VERSION
memulakan,langkah yang jitu
menggenggam seribu impian yang sama
takkan berputus asa dengan mudah
bukakanlah langkah mu

mendongak ke langit
luasnya harapan
sinaran sang mentari yang seakan
menunggu ledakkan kini membara

gegarkan jiwa
lebarkan sayap
terbanglah ke udara
lonjakan lah dirimu

gegarkan hati
hembuskan bara
nyalakanlah semangat
jangan berhenti hingga

keakhir garisan

Leona Lewis (YES) Jade Ewen (NO). If we are talking duos then I would say Leona & Adele. Just my opinion.

JLS stands for Just Like S*it. There isn't you good singer in that SO CALLED band. They are all weak. The real talent behind them is the studio producers with their auto tune.
