Just thought I'd add these traffic jam pics from around the world. Makes our traffic look like child's play.

#24 on that US list is the brent spence bridge (i-75 over the ohio river) president obama realizes the importance and the need to upgrade the bridge which would be a part of his jobs bill... hopefully republicans realize the need for the infrastructure upgrades and get there heads out of there asses and pass this bill.. we dont need another i-35 bridge disaster in america

I find it hard to believe that DC is not ranked first. Anyone who has driven on the Beltway during rush hour can attest to that fact. Not to mention that I-270 in Maryland, and I-66 and I-95/I-395 in Northern Virginia ain't no picnic either.

At least with Chicago's grid system there are enough alternative routes to get around the backups.

The bridge in question is owned by Kentucky, but Obama used this bridge as a political prop while speaking to Ohioans in a State he will desperately need come 2012. The bridge is overloaded with traffic at almost twice the design load of 85,000 daily- but the bridge needs no work and has decades of life left in it.
It's just too narrow.
.
The bridge has no plans for refurbishment at all, considering it will share the load with a new bridge built alongside it!
Something dildo ears didn't tell you about!
.
Bridge 9340 was designed and built in 1964 with undersized gusset plates joining the girders in a truss configuration. Design flaw with negledgable corrosion.
Democrats need to picket The White House instead of Wall Street and take a much needed bath.
.
Diablo, you are so ronery! So ronery and sadry arone!

I have an uncle that works for ODOT and his best friend from college is in the KYTC and BOTH say that there are major elements of the bridge that need work done to it. So do some research before you crawl out of your republican hole you call nevada.

And your comment about picketing the whitehouse instead of Wall street and Dildo ears show how much of an immature ignoramus you are

It's only about 30% of the list when you weight-count the delay times.

Lookey all the cities with their 18-lane interchanges.

Every time I've driven on the Capital Beltway, traffic was packed and congested but it was moving and drivers were very disciplined. I'd rather go 30mph on a freeway filled with people who know their lanes than the 'stop and start' madness of places like Phoenix where drivers are just confused.

Which ranking was that?

According to Allstate, DC has the worst drivers now (Hialeah is 10th on this list)

You're going to have to reassess your definition of the term "troll". I have every right, even in today's America, to state fact and answer to a child who overstepped his intelligence and made an offensive remark.
Being an architectural site, you would think SSC would back me on this, since I know what I'm posting about- just like I do on Skybar
(Diablo, see if you can spot who I am on there now!)

Well you certainly fit the description by trying to derail this thread, so if the shoe fits.

PC Magazine.com - Definition of Trolling

(1) Posting derogatory messages about sensitive subjects on newsgroups and chat rooms to bait users into responding.

(2) Hanging around in a chat room without saying anything, like a "peeping tom."

Funny since it was the mods here that were the ones who banned you from posting in the Int'l and NA Skybar in the first place. But hey if you want to play the poor little "victim" then I guess that is your perogative. However unfortunately for you everyone else here who has been on SSC long enough can see thru your bullshit so I can't say it would work in your favor.

Yeah, if there is a benefit to driving in the DC area or Chicago, or Atlanta it is because there are fewer left lane hogs and that nearly everyone is at least going at or above the speed limit.

In Denver and Houston though you have more people driving below the speed limit while traveling in the left lane. It's pretty frustrating to say the least especially if you are trying to quickly go somewhere.

Hey, I am educating the people in those Skybars, and the only thing I'm here to derail is this comment about Republicans getting their heads out of their asses. (post #4 and #9, in which something referred to Nevada as a "Republican hole!" Which is a kick since Reid is still in Washington.)
This is an online community forum, not a chat room, so I can't be a peeping Tom.
