Lemme ask U a question. What are the middle tracks for? I was first thinking that the trams will use APS, but then I saw polls and also tracks without the middle one. Quote:

you never use APS in the entire system, its too expensive. I think it uses APS for that stretch (probably some sensitive historical community) then the rest is conventional overhead wire.

I confirm. APS is only used in the historical centre, in the same way as the tram in Bordeaux. APS probably runs over no more that 10% of the whole line.

May I ask a personal favour: could you post pictures where we could see the tram line work and the front of railway station in Tours and another one with the town hall in the background at Joue-les-Tours. That would give us a good idea of how the future tram will be integrated in its environment. |
