Where would you guys like to see tall buildings in the city?

Hi, new here and just wondered what other people thought would be some good places to put tall buildings.

For me I'd especially like to see one here:

How about you guys?

I really hope you're joking. Do you not think the fabric of historic Dublin has suffered enough in the past 50 odd years?
Don't think there could be a worse location for highrise.

Surely Grand Canal Dock or Heuston are the more sensible options?

I second the above comment, a skyscraper would be a disaster there.

Redevelopment zones like around Heuston Station or the Docklands would be suitable.

History is fantastic don't get me wrong. But we don't live in the past we need to move on.

I'd be open to tall buildings anywhere in Dublin to be honest, but with the proposed pedestrianization of College Green I believe it would look quite nice there.

Or y'know we could stop using electricity and all that modern rubbish and live in the dark ages again!

Me thinks you are trolling CNKid)

Personally, I feel the best locations are at Heuston Station, Connolly and the Docklands. On the Citys outskirts I would favour Dun Laoghaire (actually alot of undeveloped land around the harbour), Sandyford, Cherrywood, Tallaght, Blanchardstown. The latter locations are all designated growth centres so this would just reinfoce that aspect of their planning.

The on City Centre Location which I feel could merit a skyscraper is the site of the current Hawkins House/College House/Screen Cinema/Appollo House....a lumpen cluster of ugly dank 1960s shite. Its a self contained site and is just off College Green. No historical buildings would need to be touched and the demolishion of the dreadful structres currently on site would dramatically improve the City. There would even be an attractive open vista as one rounded the Bank of Ireland...something that could use an architectural pinnacle.
