Wow, the location of this Mandarin Oriental Hotel is along the Fu Nan river in Jinjiang district， quite near the Shangri La Hotel, and opposite to Wangjiang Park and Sichuan University.

At 333 meters, the building will be Chengdu's tallest skyscraper and serve as a landmark for the district. In addition to the hotel, the Indoor Group is investing in the US$600 million building, which will house serviced apartments and a "sky museum" featuring traditional and contemporary Chinese art and artifacts.

From the building, which will be constructed on Shunjiang Lu, a bridge will extend across the river linking the Jiuyan Qiao and Wangjiang Park areas, and house an "international art center on the water" in addition to a leisure and activity area.

The original Mandarin Oriental is a landmark building in Central, Hong Kong, and has been listed alongside the world's top hotels since its establishment in the 1960s. The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group now operates hotels around the world, and in mainland China is developing properties in Beijing and Shanghai. Guangzhou will become the first mainland Chinese city to boast a Mandarin Oriental Hotel when that location opens later this year.
