Infopark Kochi is expanding it activities to the neighbouring Kunnathunad and Puthencruz villages of Kunnathunad Taluk of Ernakulam District as its second phase in 160 acres.

Master plan for second phase envisages infrastructure development for cost effective BPO complexes, software development blocks in SEZ and non SEZ clusters, utility services including substation, water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, road net work etc. The park will be designed as an eco friendly green park with high energy saving measures and least carbon emission. The existing eco system will be maintained to the highest possible level. Apart from the built up space for IT, the park will have a large business convention centre the first of its kind in Kochi, budget hotels, shopping complexes, commercial centres, recreation and entertainment centres.
Infrastructure development will be undertaken in a phased manner and will be completed by Sep 2012.

Construction of the BPO complex will commence in 2011-12

Infopark invites RFP from Cos

Quote:
KOCHI: Infopark has invited Request for Proposals (RFP) from companies for the co-development of the second phase. According to the masterplan developed by Canon Designs USA, a green township has been envisaged on the banks of Kadambrayar river.

“We are looking for co-developers with experience in IT infrastructure development for setting up IT/BPO complexes in 97 acres of SEZ area. We are also eyeing IT companies with large employee presence to develop their campus in the second phase of Infopark,” said Infopark CEO Gigo Joseph.

Developers have options to construct hotels, convention centres, sports club and other recreational facilities in the additional 25 acres of non-SEZ area.“Work on the development of the second phase of Infopark is moving at a fast pace. The earth filling for the first building, by RSP Constructions, is underway. East Cost Constructions & Industries Ltd has been awarded the contract to build the first IT building.

Developing basic infrastructure facilities like substation, power distribution, internal road system, water intake, treatment and storage, data & communication connectivity, land development, compound wall,

guest house, common food courts have already begun,” he said. The second phase is being developed in 160 acres of land at Kunnathunadu and Puthencruz villages.

The total area is designed for SEZ, commercial and non-SEZ types of development. The domestic park in the new phase will have state-of-the-art facilities including shopping arcades, town centre plaza, convention centre, women’s hostel, guest house, facilities for rest and recreation, boat club, etc. On completion, the park is expected to provide employment up to 80,000-90,000 professionals. The state government has allocated Rs. 50 crore towards infrastructure development schemes for the second phase

RKPV/e_arunsid ? Any chance of IBM/accenture/HCL/Infosys etc ?... Also any updates on CTS on phase II & allotted land for Brigade/IBS in Phase-1 ? any hints from your source(s) on these .... A second SEZ from TCS for 5 acre in addition to 15 acres in Phase I is surprising, a big campus from TCS would be really great ...

Afaik, IBM Kochi plans have been abandoned and the capital city might get the nod!

Accenture has still plans for Kochi.

All these are unconfirmed reports!

If I am not wrong Infosys and HCL can be ruled out as they have plans only for Trivandrum. IBM and Accenture had plans some time back but I dont have any proper sources to confirm the status. Cognizant's 15 acre plan is somewat confirmed . IBS is not doing that well so lets not expect them 2 start construction any soon. Brigade is the confusing one..I wonder why they havent started construction as there is acute shortage of IT space.

CTS planning a big DC in 15 acres. No chance for IBM, HCL and Infosys as of now. IBS will be going slow till their TVM campus phases II and III are completed

I'd rather pin my hopes on L&T and Infopark Phase II than TECOM

Suggest names for IP Phase II

Infopark Phase II will be known by a different name and people can suggest their opinion.

Phase II is being developed in 160 acres of land in Kunnathunad & Puthencruz Taluks. Convention Centre, Shopping Malls, Hotels, Entertainment centre, all will be part of the phase II development.

Well what about calling it Infopolis..... Or Vignanapuram (for those Mallu lovers, including one in myself) or Infozone.....

I am tried of cities and parks by now!!! Infact names are not so important. Performance is more important. I know, this will make the city proud, a right mix of IT, R&D, Logistics and Heavy industry.......

Well, I have a got scope, which i cannot confirm at the moment... Its thro' an insider.... The better news is that, the proposed Football Stadium in Infopark, may likely to move to Infopark 2 campus, after Kinfra refusing to give their land.

The Infopark Company is ready to receive the additional land to be acquired minus the land for the foot ball stadium. Since the new facility is a mixture of work-play-fun-life concept, presence of a football stadium in its vicinity is an added advantage....

Lets hope to hear official intimation soon.....

CEO is having time for all these things , do he have time for properly marketing the project ....Others are racing ahead and we are sleeping...
No solid deals heard for long time , that shows how pathetic the CEO is .
They simply dont know how to exploit the city's advantage ....Hope smart city management will have that professional touch Infopark is missing too much... am sure Infopark if markerted properly can be the Game changer ...
There is no reason whatsoever for biggies in IT to ignore Infopark , but its just that its marketed so badly rather pathetically....
The attitude " I have a park , if you want come and take the space" this needs to change. Go and Knock the door guysssss , keep knocking till it opensss

Well, I don't simply blame it everything on CEO's head and wash off the hands.... Infopark is still in 2006 time.... Time has little moved ahead for them. I may call it political reasons. Whatever be it, you require time to move ahead..... I would say, lets give one year to see how new govt and new management may move ahead.....
