i think Brahmapuram is going to develop in a big way in the coming years.if they want to build a 4 lane it should be executed fast coz builders have already started with high rises foreseeing infopark and smart city.after few years it will be difficult to acquire land.

Infopark-2 is getting ready to welcome biggies.

A major international MNC has completed its discussions and is on verge of taking over 15 acres of land to set up its facility. The first buliding under Infopark would be ready by 2014. Piling works to commence within 2 weeks.

It would be really great if the reffered 1.2 million sq ft brigade building fast , as it could used by multiple tenants.... and article says TCS is 1.5 million sq ft, as it's getting constructed by L&T , probably we can expect something on signature tower(Tejomaya second phase) only after that ...

Is TCS campus, 1.5 million sq ft? I thought its 1.3 MSF

Brigade construction to start soon!

17000 employed in IP phase I

IP exports touched Rs 900 crore in 2010-11, up from Rs 600 crore in 2009-10.

CSEZ and other IT firms exports close to Rs 500 crore.

Thus exports from Cochin comes to 44% of total IT exports in the state (Rs 3200 crore) in 2010-11.

You have read this % in the context of Number of years into existence ... I guess Infopark is just 6 yr old

I think the area marked in Wikimapia as Smart City and IP Phase II is wrong.
In the smart city area i cannot find any river that was cited as the reason for not giving a single-SEZ status to the entire area.
And the area marked as IP-II is much larger than that of smart city even though the former is only 160 acres.
Can any1 post the actual correct map of both.?

Wikimapia is updated.

Here is a map:

You can see that Smart City land is in two parcels. In order to get SEZ approval, they must be made contiguous. This will be accomplished by a bridge.

Acquisition doesn't mean that the land should be free of buildings!

Wowww, Chekuthan; A nice and comprehensive plan for Kochi Infopark 2.... Thanks dear... So, surely its ROCKING!!!!

I wonder, why a drop-sized plot lying in middle of Infopark 2, not shown as part of Infopark? Is this the 15 acre land sold to the MNC?

The circular area in the middle is not yer acquired it seems. That land is inhabited. The vacant land to the bottom left, close to the bridge is given to smart city, most probably for building the bridge.

Yes it seems. The satellite view show the presence of few buildings in the area. It's weird to have private residential plots in the middle of an IT park!

You might have seen only Smart city land part 1, there is another land lying close to IP Phase II. Both of them will be connected by a bridge so as to act as a single SEZ.

I am sure, some big sharks or private company will purchase the center piece, once Infopark 2 and Smart City comes up.... The land value will be higher and naturally individual small houses will sell it and leave the place as a crorepatis....

I wishes, I could own a 5 cent of land in that piece of land!!!!
