i always found Beijing's skyline a bit lacking for a tier one city, but this CBD expansion seems to have no shortage of good projects.

yes one 530m, one 400m and a heck of a lot of 300m+ buildings surrounding them. when i was in beijing last weekend i felt China WTC was really alone, you could see it far from the distance and it was the only building dominating by far. i can already imagine all these 300m buildings making it a cluster that can be seen from far away.

Beijing to Raise Building Height Restriction for Five Developments in the Core CBD Area
On 23 November, the Beijing Municipal commission of Urban Planning released an adjustment proposal for five developments in the Beijing CBD Core Area. Six buildings in five commercial developments referred to as Z3, Z6, Z12, Z14 and Z2a applied to raise their building height restrictions without changing their total gross floor area. The proposal is for Z3 to increase from 160 meters to 200 meters, Z6 to increase from 300-350 meters to 405 meters, Z12 to increase from 180 meters to 269 meters, twin tower buildings of Z14 to increase from 150-220 meters to 238 meters, and Z2a to increase from 180 meters to 242.75 meters. If the above planning adjustments are approved, the Z6 office building will be Beijing’s second highest office tower after Z15 – the China Honour Tower.
