pro 1 - the overall building looks fine, but i do not really like the base. probably my least favorite of them.
pro 2 - modern simple yet nothing special i thought, but looking at the flower picture i realize that this will look just astonishing at night with the side facade lit in different colorful styles. and colorful is what makes these asian skylines so beautiful. pro 3 - my favorite. i am just a sucker for these kind of designs. it is simply perfect ![]() pro 4 - i normally do not like designs like this, but actually this one i do like a lot, because it is not overdoing it. the facade is crazy, but the overall look is rather simple, which is perfect for a kind of design like that. it also reminds me a bit of kingkey (although completely different) which gives it a kinda shenzhen style, how weird that may sound. pro 5 - i like it, nice and modern. ![]() pro 6 - it is not bad, but it is not really great either, unique it is i gotta say, but not really beautiful. favorite to least favorite: 3 - 2 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 1 |

Rare for chinese project (probably because there is so many of them
) almost all of the proposals are really nice. And it seems they not saving on architects either since so many top brands presents their designs. I would say I would go for gensler's proposal (nr 2) it's like I like it best - elegant, yet modern. But I truly wouldn't mind most of them except maybe the last one - weird, looks like they wanted make it different by all means. Number three isn't something special either - a bit overdone and tacky. But I could live with that.Really its not often that I don't prey for one particular proposal to be chosen. But after all they picked some top architects studios here.

![]() I found out the tower you are talking about is Tencent Headquarters tower, and is 150m tall. On the other hand the first proposal has its heght mentioned on the renders and it is 350m. For others it's hard to tell precisely. Only the last one has simple perspective and I god 270m from my cruel calculations. But I'm not sure if these two towers are even in line so that number may be wrong. The bottom line is the height of the proposals probably doesn't differ much from the originally proposed height of 320m. If anybody can provide better calculations please do.

2 is very good. I like that one most.
![]() 1 and 3 are quite generic and similar towers are being built elsewhere. |
