It's only a steel structure?! No concrete?

Are the steel beams painted before installation ? Most towers I see going up around the world have rusty columns and beams rising...

I too am curious whether the core is poured after the steel is up or if there's no concrete core at all

This building is a kind of a double of Leadenhall London.

Lovely building. It would look good in the City of London.

it would completely steal the show though and pretty much become the skyline of London itself, it has a 350m flat roof anyways

Still only steel structure! Quite interesting. Anybody knows if it's still possible to cast concrete at this stage?

Now that I've seen the back of this building I'm pretty sure there will be no concrete core. The backbone of this tower is a massive steel skeleton with countless X-bracings to stiffen the structure like a concrete core would do.

probably the tallest all steel tower in Shenzhen and maybe China
from http://www.archdaily.com/619597/morp...-office-tower/
With a thoughtful structural solution by the engineers at Halvorson and Partners, the form of the tower is primarily defined by its steel structural system, which offsets the primary movement and service cores to the exterior of the floor plate, minimizing the building’s structural footprint while maximizing open space. The open floor plate, made possible by the tower’s offset core, dramatically increases space-planning flexibility and offers healthier work environments with enhanced natural light and airflow. Offsetting the core also allows for a public-to-private gradient of activity on each floor plate, as tenants move from circulation and social spaces around the core to quieter perimeter offices with panoramic views. Freed from the interior of the building, circulation and amenity areas gain natural light and exterior views over the city to transform from conventional to vibrant public space.
