Noida Authority okays Ponty Chadha's infrastructure project

In an indication of the warming ties between the Samajwadi Party government and liquor baron Gurdeep Singh Chadha alias Ponty, the Noida Authority on Wednesday cleared the master plan for Chadha's 152-acre Wave City Centre. Launched by Wave Infratech, Chadha's real estate company, during the Mayawati regime, the project had been hanging in balance since the Samajwadi government was sworn into power.

Believed to a close to former chief minister Mayawati, Chadha, however, appears to have mended fences with the present government as well.

Wave Infratech To Raise Funds Through Debt-Equity Mix

Wave Infratech – part of Ponty Chadha’s Wave Group, is planning to raise around R4000 Cr in the next two months through debt and PE to fund investments in developing the first phase of a township in Noida.

The project is a 152-acre integrated township at Noida named 'Wave City Centre'. First phase of the project includes R10,000 Cr outlay including the land cost. Total size would be 40 Mn sq.ft, of which the company would develop about 10 Mn sq.ft in the first phase to be delivered by 2016.

Wave Infratech has given mandate to IDFC for arranging debts from banks and it can dilute 25% stake in the first phase of the project, MD Manpreet Singh Chadha said.

The company had won the land last year through an auction for around R6500 Cr after outbidding Amrapali and The 3C Company.

First phase development plan comprises of 1,400 housing units at a starting price of over R1 Cr, 900 studio apartments, 370 high street shop condominiums, two hotels, a shopping mall of 2 Mn sq.ft and an office complex.

But I highly doubt they would build the Iconic tower as it is in the render, because that design is the same as the one that is already under construction in Riyadh. I don't know why they would pick a foreign design for use in their marketing. This makes me wonder if they actually have an "Iconic Tower" in mind or It still is in the design stage.

100 floors? Did i hear the right figure? Oh man! Wave city center is on a roll.. I am so looking forward to this project and would love to invest. Noida will become the next best posh areas to live. Keep up the good work

^ actually these developers create impressing designs and renders just to make a good poster to attract investors and customers...but they build only according to the demand so no need to go gaga about all of this..;these are merely the posters to attract fools like us.

I know that....I was just saying that people could put out some reasons before saying "this is never gonna happen" regardless of how similar it looks to the renders. So we know if it is going to happen or not.

Hi-Tec Presentation. I didn't know SOM is involved. Hope they provide a stunning design for the Iconic tower. Which I think they still didn't finalize the design yet.
