Unclear. The municipality wants to turn them into "cultural centers" or hotels, however both long-distance and local trains would have desperate need of them, so there is some resistance against the terminus stations never being reopened.

It is the new Silkroad between Europe and Asia. London-Peking Non Stop by Rail. In future also freight transport will be over this route.

The Bosphorus is 1,6 km wide but the tunnels are under 60 Meter from sea level.
By car you need almost 1 hour ( due traffic ) to pass the bosphorus over the suspension bridges. Now you need 4 Minutes.

Probably Haydarpaşa will be used for HSR.

It's not, most of the lines in the map are at the draft stage,
some are planned detailed;
Kabata-Beşiktaş-Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey (i guess thats all)
and some others are being planning;
Bostancı-Dudullu
Göztepe-Ataşehir-Ümraniye
Kirazlı-Bakırköy

Austrian media questioned the security of the tunnel in case of fire, regarding emergency exits etc. Is there anything to it or is it just slander?

it's hard to translate all text about security but let me make a summary;

-There is fire hoses in every 45 meters in emergency exit tunnels
-Every station and ventilation structure have water tanks (each 200m3) and pomps
-valves along the line can be controlled by operation centre (main pump works with electric and there is diesel generators in case of lack of electricity)
-Every station and ventilation structure have sprinklers
-the system can work during an earthquake magnitude 7.5
-structural design provide natural ventilation to throw smoke and gases

+rolling stocks are isolated from smoke
+all cables are fire proofed

But how does the emergency exit system look like? Is the tunnel a two-tube design with regular connections that can be used by passangers in case of emergency to access the other tube which can be turned into an emergency exit?

And if so, what is the distance of those connections? Is it those 45m you've mentioned?
