I don't think any tier-II airport connections will work out from TCR.TCR needs to be connected to MAA at convenient slots first to ensure the convenient travel for business sector people. i.e an early morning MAA-TCR & TCR-MAA flights and an evening/night TCR-MAA & MAA-TCR flights. At next step, TCR should be connected to Bangalore(BLR)..I feel Spicejet can try this with their new Q400 flights, flying CJB-BLR..They can extend the same flight till TCR so that it will be a direct flight to BLR from CJB and one-stop for TCR to BLR via CJB. Then, TCR can be tried for BOM and DEL connections, followed by HYD..This is the order TCR should be connected gradually. Direct TCR-PNQ/TCR-VTZ will never work out, as these flights are risky from even bigger airports like Madurai.

I request the guys from madurai airport thread to post some light on the tuticorin airport. I am sure that madurai is going to become international becuase of your tremendous effort. please transfer that momentum to this thread as well.. I think Spicejet is making good moves in the aviation sector for tamilnadu

Realistically speaking twice daily flight to Chennai and one flight to Bangalore will meet our needs for the immediate future

Joshua, Tuti, Salem airports all come under other airports (I guess they are 17 or 18 in number in AAI reports). So they release the stats collectively for the 18 airports.

but the onward ( blr to tcr) timing is little odd ( 2:30pm). it may not have many takers. the return flight will definitely get good loads. unfortunately we are only talking about this connectivity in the net. spicejet should advertise this flight in a big way at Tuticorin, kovilpatti, tirunelveli, tenkasi, nagercoil etc only then it will get good loads... |
