Looks like Greenland's eastern coast is a very hostile environment. Only 3,500 people live on the entire eastern coast (of whom almost 2,000 in Tasiilaq). The northernmost permanent civilian settlement is Ittoqqortoormiit (470 inhabitants), which lies very far from the northernmost point of Greenland. Perhaps even more interesting is the southernmost permanent (civilian) settlement Isortoq (100 inh.), which lies surprisingly far from the southernmost point of Greenland.

EDIT: actually, all people live close to Tasiilaq or Ittoqqortoormiit!

Click on the link. It says it lies close to the Petermann Glacier in northwestern Greenland.

What are the speed limits in Greenland? They must be pretty low.

Until 6 months ago I thought there were no trees in Greenland at all but it turns out there is.
In Narsarsuaq there is the Arboretum Groenlandicum . It was an interesting surprise.

and a few pics http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narsarsuaq
and if you Google Greenland Arboretum you will find more pictures.

Qaqortoq

It is the most populous town in southern Greenland (3,200 inhabitants), and the fourth-largest town in the country. Qaqortoq is not connected to any other populated place via roads. Fairly well trodden hiking trails lead north and west from the town, but for any motorised transportation terrain vehicles are needed. During winter, dog sled routes are important transport links to the surrounding area.

Here's something to add:

Katuaq Culture Centre - Nuuk, Greenland

and

Taseralik Cultural Center

Which is one of only very few places in Greenland to watch Hollywood movies.

Now Showing: Paranormal Activity 3
http://taseralik.gl/content/se/aaqqi...mal_activity_3

P.S.
I'm guessing there are no official car dealerships in Greenland so I guess majority of vehicles are parallel/grey imports from other countries.

It's also interesting that Greenland is:
-geographically American (or geographically closer to North American continent)
-has some European roots (i.e. via the relationship with Denmark)
-BUT majority cars are Asian (Japanese and Korean)

Greenland is a globalized territory hehe

Oh btw:
Can I bring a Lexus or a Mercedes Benz there?

Or maybe something like this:
Toyota Alphard
