Great thread, but this map is a nonsense.

Indonesia has never been Portuguese (let alone Spanish) apart from little trade settlements as Bantam and Timor. Even for the Dutch it took 300 years until the 1870's to rule fully over all it's territory.

Same applies with India, which the Portuguese never ruled apart from settlements on the coast, like the French and Dutch. But they had no power whatsoever inland with the mighty Mughal Empire. Neither in East Africa, or Bengal, or China...etc.

Wiki is far more a reliable source:
