For Muslims, the solution to our problems is prayer (dua) and work at the same time, not only prayer. Work is a crucial part of the religion and Muslims should strive to do their best in their field but should also ask for God's help at the same time because God is the one who has provided, provides and will provide for us. He is also our sustainer and this was the practice of the prophet. It is not enough to just make duaa nor is it enough just to work because assuming that you can do everything without God's help and permission is impossible and this is the Islamic perspective.
Therefore, I find it interesting that people on this forum directly assume that this man is just making duaa in order to solve the problems. Perhaps some people are experiencing an islamophobia complex. So as soon as they see or hear something religious they automatically assume that nothing but prayer will be done and this is ofcourse not the case. These quick assumptions are what create misunderstanding and I would advise people not to quickly judge this man just because he is a Muslim and makes duaa as a custom and part of his speech. Plus, people are very quick to criticise this man just because he shows religious values I mean, he's only been in office for what 6 months? I mean cut him some slack and give him some time and then criticise... |

If someone is sick he needs to search for treatment and he or she can also pray . But only praying and staying in bed will not help someone get better. Praying for jobs will not create jobs in Morocco, that is for sure. Benikrane knows what the problems are, but does nothing to change this. Morocco needs major economic reforms to create more and better paid jobs. The monopolies, closed economy don't create many jobs. Erdogan is a muslim like Benikrane and when he came to power during a difficult time when the economy of Turkey was allmost bankrupt, he didn't say to the people that they should pray for better times. He started economic reforms to recover the economy.. Last edited by Mister79; May 18th, 2012 at 09:18 PM. |

Marock, if Benikrane says he is a muslim why doesn't he do what Islam is saying? Islam was the first religion who had a social welfare system for old, sick people, orphans, divorced women etc. So why doesn't he create a social welfare system in Morocco? In Islam it is the duty of the state to care for the poor, weak etc.
The leaders like Omar, Abu Bakr didn't live in palaces, but in a normal home.. Islam says also people who have a lot of money should donate a lot of money to the poor. I don't see Benikrane asking the filty rich do donate some of their money to help the poor. Why doesn't Benikrane send special teams to the Atlas to help the people who don't have acces to health care? Investing billions in a TGV project, when millions live in poverty is not Islam.. Benikrane is just a clown who wears an Islamic mask..All the PJD are fake Islamists... Last edited by Mister79; May 18th, 2012 at 09:35 PM. |

Salamualaikum Mister79
I am in complete agreement with what you have stated about Islam and that if followed correctly, it can solve many problems socially as well as economically. I currently live in Turkey and I deifnitely agree that many changes have come to this country through this government through hard work. To be honest, I haven't read a lot about Benkirane but the change perhaps should come gradually and cannot all come in 6 months. In addition, we both know that there are opposition groups in Morocco who hate religion and thus may oppose any system that was once used during the khalifa's times. just as an example, islamically speaking, forced marriage to a rapist is unislamic in the first place, the man should have actually been killed for he had done. But as soon as you introduce a law of capital punishment, you would have a lot of pressure from liberals saying that its 'inhumane'. It's a very complex game of politics so it can be difficult knowing the real intentions of a person. perhaps it would be better to wait and see what will happen further down the road but i wouldnt call him a hypocrite too quickly because that can be a very dangerous thing especially when I'm not sure about his intentions. Despite this I sincerely hope that he does make reforms like the ones you've mentioned because they would be of much benefit for our ummah. |

Morocco is not and will never be Germany, China, Russia, Japan, USA or India, be realistic... Ifw we want to hope to be in the top 20, it's an obligation that Morrocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Mauritania will be one country... United States of Maghreb... (Etats unis du Maghreb). Morocco only or Algeria only, or Libya only, have not the potential to be on the top 20 world's nation...

Donc pourquoi attendre 2040? Sourriez. Vous êtes à Makhzenistan.
