Yes it is. The neighborhood likes parks more so they call them that to appeal to the whining NIMBY neighbors. Office buildings and retail prefer open plazas due to the ability to have outdoor sales and not have views of or from the adjacent building obscured by trees. It is also easier to maintain them. And, especially for this site, it is easier to secure it as there are less places for "suspicious" people to hide "devices."

# Koenig's thoughts on the sphere; "It now has a different beauty, one I could never imagine. It has its own life – different from the one I gave to it."

Will this sculpture be returned to the WTC site somewhere ? It was a focal point of Tobin Plaza and although damaged survived 9/11...It's not everything, but part of history where not much else remained.

I always wonder, what will happen with those ventilation grills (on the grey concrete block in the background of the picture). The grey concrete block will be part of the church, if you compare it with the floor plan. But what will happen with the grill? Will it be inside the building?

Good question. It does look like it will butt right up to the building.

Glad to see the Church going up, although I'm a bit disappointed with the modernist design.

Wow, it looks so much different with actual greenery!

Looking forward to see the church construction. The Calatrava design will be beautiful.

It'll be a welcome sight to see construction finish on this end of the site after so many years. Ridiculous how long it's taken.

Big pour at the church today. The second floor deck together with the columns and the round stairwell things that hold it up.
