That pedestrian crossing is the last surviving remnant of the original complex. And yes it will be restored.

All of the metal panels cladding Liberty Bridge will be replaced soon, and will look as clean and shiny as they did three decades ago. The South Bridge never got the chance to connect to the WTC complex before 9/11 (because the Church refused to move), so it's a survivor of the original WFC complex as well as a new member of the WTC complex. It formerly led to a parking lot.

The fencing along Liberty Street is being moved to open up some of the street to pedestrians.

This church is going to be beautiful. I like seeing smaller projects complete along the site. The PAC is next after this one finishes.

They seem to have covered the dome now with what appears to be some sort of tarp-like material. What's that about?

Probably just so they can do interior work without freezing and getting rained on.

Fritz König, the designer of "the sphere" which stood on the J. Austin Tobin Plaza has passed away yesterday.

It seems that sections of Washington and Cedar streets are open again to public traffic. Can anyone in the area take any photographs? Perhaps the southwest staircase has finally been opened!

It's not impossible. It depends on the design.
