U/C infrastructure on OpenStreetMap

A good way to see u/c roads and railways is to use ITO - Map. Choosing "Transport construction" in the layer menu (top right) will give you this:

Map key is in the lower left corner.

If you find errors, feel free to register at www.openstreetmap.org and edit .

Thanks, didn't know about these layers.

By the way, I'm a mapper for more than a year now and use OSM every now and then.

I don't like OSM road numbers. The one-size fits all approach doesn't really work well here. I also think there should be less detailed map versions, or the ability to switch off unnecessary layers.

Here's a map that indicates the N348 for eight times on a less than 20 km section with no major junctions in between. Overkill.

OSM colors are dreadful too. It's a pain to the eye.

That's true. I have always assumed that the person who chose the colors is probably color-blind.

The OSMs color scheme is badly designed...
Google Maps looks like a white desert, but still they seem to have raised the bar on how maps should be drawn.

OSM does not quite reach the same level...
For example: Green trunk roads through green woodland? Come on...

There is always an alternative. And if even this doesn't suit you either you can set up your own tile server with your very own map.

That's not normal. I guess that road is not mapped correctly, e.g. the different sections are not connected right and therefore the renderer drafts the number in each independent section. I'll have a look at it...

Edit: Yep, the different parts are not connected in the right way. So you have several different segments and the OSM renderer trades each segment as independent raod...
