A beautiful autumn weekend in Buffalo, New York

I toured the city of Buffalo, New York, again focusing on the city's architecture and downtown! I even brought a friend with me for this as he's a Foo Fighters fan and wanted to tour City Hall as well! It was a gorgeous autumn weekend in late September, the weather could not have been any better!

Without further ado, my early Autumn 2011 phototour of Buffalo...

Started out at the waterfront the Saturday evening, these pics taken on my BlackBerry...

Buffalo skyline from the waterfront observation tower...

Buffalo waterfront residences...

Found this a bit humorous... from inside the observation tower...

WTH is a bedroom doing in the middle of the Erie Canal?

HSBC Arena, now known as First Niagara Center, home of the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey Leaque, as is obvious, the letters in HSBC Arena have been removed... this was also where the Foo Fighters concert was held...

Sunday morning, me and my friend took a guided tour of downtown Buffalo, courtesy of Buffalo Tours

This building front, the Genesee Building, was taken in the Hyatt Regency, where the Hyatt Regency is, was once a street that went straight through to Niagara Square...

Unique because this was its own building and an atrium was added to the building in the 70s and where the atrium is used to be Genesee Street.

Looking up at the Genesee Building, the Hyatt Regency...

Buffalo Savings Bank building...

Main Street on our downtown tour...

City Hall from Court Street

Liberty Building...

Rand Building...

Brisbane Building...

Fountain and sculpture in front of the M&T Bank Building...

Looking up @ M&T Plaza, designed by Minuro Yamasaki, who designed the World Trade Center in NYC

Top corner of the magnificent Ellicott Square, named after Buffalo's founder and was the World's Largest Office Building in 1893, when it was built...

Inside Ellicott Square...

This is the northeast corner of Ellicott Square, it was rumoured that back in 1896, in this location, was where the first permanent movie theater in the world was built...

Front of Ellicott Square...

Former office building where Grover Cleveland, former President of the United States who was from Buffalo, practised Law.

Looking up at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral

Inside

That building is the Dun Building, built in 1894, considered to be one of the first skyscrapers ever built in the world.

Louis Sullivan's Terra Cotta masterpiece, the Guaranty Building.

Inside the Guaranty Building...

Edward A. Rath City County Building...

Old City Hall and Erie County Building...

This former church was the only building that remained after the British burned Buffalo in the War of 1812.

City Hall and Courthouse...

Rear of the soon-to-be-renovated Historic Statler Hotel

YMCA Building on what used to be Genesee Street, near the Convention Center...

Ancient Landmarks Building, home of the Century Grille

Buffalo Savings Bank once more...

Electric Tower, being worked on...

The stunning Market Arcade exterior detail...

St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, on Main Street north of downtown...

Handsome homes and buildings on Main Street...

If you look closely at this building, the roof is partly torn off...

Anchor Bar @ Main and North Streets, birthplace of the Buffalo chicken Wing and makers of the best Buffalo Chicken Wings in the world!

Finally, on the Monday, me and my friend toured City Hall...

Shot of the Court House, in the sun...

The famous gorgeous Buffalo City Hall...

This magnificent city hall is the second largest in the U.S. and was built in 1932.

Statler Hotel...

Buffalo's new courthouse, nearing completion...

If you go up to where the Buff State campus is there are some very nice old homes, Delaware Park, and the Albright Knox building.

Buffalo does have some nice architecture but its sad the area is doing so badly.
