New Macedonian license plates unveiled

Skopje, 18 February 2012 (MIA) – The new license plates which will be used as of Monday first in Skopje and by week-end in other cities, have been unveiled Saturday in “Rade Koncar- Contactors and Relays” company, which will produce the plates in the next three years.

Interior Minister Gordana Jankuloska attended the unveil ceremony who said that the new plates are issued according to European standards, have far higher level of protection than the existing ones and offer combinations that will satisfy the needs in the next two to three decades.

Unlike to old license plates from 1993, new ones will have four digits and 20 letters which are used enabling around 4 million combinations which is much more than the current ones, Jankuloska said, adding that in the past two years there is a trend of increase of number of vehicles with new license plates, so 115.473 plates were issued in 2010 and 2011, which is more than double compared to two-year period and it is expected the new license plates to satisfy needs of future owners of vehicles for longer period.

The price of new license plates is as before - Denar 1.200 and the citizens will not be obliged to replace the old ones. – The old license plates will be valid in the future and there is no legal obligation for citizens to replace them only if they wish to do that, Jankuloska said.

Защо се създава впечатление, че доста македонци ни ненавиждат нас - българите? На политиката ли се дължи това, на какво? Исторически погледнато има доста спорове, но нека тези дебати ги оставим за историците. Като цяло съм учил доста история и все пак се смятам за некомпетентен, за да се изкажа. Но все пак сме съседни държави, разбираме се, а отношенията ни дори с Румъния и Турция са далеч по-добри, това направо не ми го побира акъла...
