Why old cars, expecially iron parts aren't recycled in Belgium but left in the envoronment for decades?

It's privately owned that scrapyard. And the owner decided to leave them there... Near bigger cities in Belgium you can find your every day auto scrapyard where they crush them and recycle the steel and other parts...

Brazilian four-door Ford Maverick, circa 1976. Extremely rare.

Today I went to a village called Ryd in Tingsryd municipality to look at the car cemetary there. It's one of the most famous car cemeteries in Sweden. It's the only thing Ryd is really known for. If you mention Ryd to someone outside of Ryd they will most probably think of the car cemetary or don't know anything at all. Here in the forest, people just threw out their cars in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Also some tractors and buses are to be found here. I took a lot of photos and I will post all of them here since all the photos are worth to post

I agree. It's a very nice place. Really stupid that people threw out their cars just like that back then If the cars still looked fine nowadays they would probably be worth a lot. Most cars I couldn't recognize there but I know that I saw some Volvo Amazons, Volvo PV444s, Saab 95s, Ford Taunus and Volkswagen Transporters. Some cars were really old, from the 30s and 40s but most of them only in parts.

I think some of the wrecks are Ford Anglia & 1930's Opel Kadett. Unfortunate that your pictures are so out of focus, depends on the rain, happend to me too.

There is is similar scrap yard in Värmland called Töcksfors.

This is a wrecked car with portuguese plates, the photo is taken in Italy (?)

Is it difficult to get a forreign registered car scrapped and receive documents needed to remove the car from the register in a another EU-country ?

I have some thoughts going there with an older car, do italian scrapyards pick up old wrecks for free and fix the paper work ? Should be profitable for them as they can sell the parts of the wreck.

Looking at all those pictures of abandoned cars, I have my suspiscions they don't.
