Is it difficult to get a forreign registered car scrapped and receive documents needed to remove the car from the register in a another EU-country ?

I have some thoughts going there with an older car, do italian scrapyards pick up old wrecks for free and fix the paper work ? Should be profitable for them as they can sell the parts of the wreck.

Looking at all those pictures of abandoned cars, I have my suspiscions they don't.
I lived in norway for one year and i bough a car there, and when i moved back to iceland i took it with me to Iceland and i had it there for six years and then i crashed it and it is outside my grandfathers farm now and i am going to crush it soon, and i just have to get my money for the car and the scrapyard will do the rest

So many wrecked cars in Italy.

In Sweden if such a car is parked in the city centre, it will take a week
before someone gives the local authorities a call, they will put a warning-sticker on the windshield. If the owner does not tow away the vehicle within a certain period they will confiscate it.

When I stayed a longer period in St Petersburg, Russia I saw many wrecked and abandoned cars. No one there seemed to care about the wrecks.

Here somebody calls just if the car bothers someone, otherwise nobody care...and even like this, not always the car can be removed. But I saw here too some cars with the warning-sticker of the windshild (I remember a Ford Fiesta with belgian plates in Milan). I guess in Sweden if you want to see abandoned cars you have to go into villages, where maybe they keep in the backyards

No, it was quite a lot of people around. A lot of truck drivers and other people walking around. I thought that it wouldn't look so good to just take the plate from the car while people watching. But I promise that sometime I will get a Swedish plate for you

Maybe I should some time but I won't have time to go there in a while and there's scrapyards closer to my home where I probably could find some more There's also a scrapyard near my parent's home in Kallinge where I should be able to find a lot of plates, but I can't go there for some time now. I got to work

you don't have to send in the plates when you scrap you car in Sweden? To the plates follow the person (like in UK) or the car (like here in Norway)?

Two abandoned cars in Oslo.

I posted this on another forum, and the Mustang had apparently stood there for many years. No plates, flat tire and a lot of rust. There is currently a plan to develop this parking plot into apartments so it wouldn't surprised me if it have been scrapped since I was there.

This Lada stood with flat tire when I took a picture of it. It have since then lost it plates and have not moved a inch.
