Some high up people in Israel see an attack on Iran as a mistake because an attack could only potentially delay the Nuclear program for just a few months, and with Hezbollah on its doorstep and Tel Aviv vulnerable to being bombed by Iran, an attack on Iran would be deadly. Some fellow from Mossad believed the better way of doing it was to try and convince the Iranian people and fund groups to over throw the regime themselves or something but Netenhanu or however you spell his name and is defense pal believe time is running out and that an attack would delay the nuclear program for 5 years so they are seriously convinced a strike on Iran is necessary whether the US likes it or not because Iran said it wanted to wipe Israel off the map.

ANYWAY

Should the US and Iran decide to battle it out, you won't see a US ground campaign against Iran, why? it would just be far too costly for the Americans, casualties would be high and public opinion would be low, they've just come out of a long campaign in Iraq and are still in Afghanistan and the financial burden would just be too much. Iran would be extremely tough for the US to crack in a ground campaign, there's a chance they could lose which would be unthinkable for them.
The US will use their superior Navy and Air Force and other technological know how to bomb Iran into submission, Iran I suspect will fire away the many lethal missiles at their disposal and try and drag the US into a costly ground war.

And I'll be paying an arm and a leg to fill my damn car!
"Iran said it wanted to wipe Israel off the map"

When did "Iran" said that ?! First of all if you are referring to the speech the ahmadinejad gave like 6 years ago, you are wrong he never said such a thing, second even if that idiot said that, what do you mean "Iran" said ?!

Rick Santorum an american thinks gay people are animals, do people say "america" said gay people are animals ?! no they said Rick Santorum said that, one person, so "Iran" didn't say they want to wipe israel of the map, neo-can's say ahmadinejad did which he didn't, so yeah... on your other points you have some good analysis.

Sorry about that Persiantakavar I should have worded it better.
What I was saying was that a few of the higher ups in Israel will use that "wipe us off the map" regardless of the controversy surrounding what ahmadinejad really said or not as a pretext to attack Iranian nuclear program facilities before it is "too late" aka buried deep somewhere where their bombs won't penetrate. That's how they see it now: Iran with nukes = Israel destroyed.

I know exactly what you talkin about, if i was in charge i would end the nuclear program as fast as i can. but uhh... i think the reason that the people in charge here might want a nuke is not attack israel or the united states but to guarantee their own safety, america is not going to attack a country with nukes, look at north korea for example since they built nukes no one in america may i say even "dares" to talk about NK and a regim change there, but anyway the IAEA says that iran is not building a nuke even the U.S. secretary of defense said they are not building a nuke, the reason that there is so much talk about iran nuclear program right now is that the election year is near and iran is the boogyman and with a boogyman and enough fear mongering you can get lots of votes in U.S.

lol

Who knows what that will happen next. All we can do is to wait and see.. it's sad that tensions between Iran and Israel are more tense than never before, both nations will suffer if a war or something would happen. ._.

If NK launched a nuke on say Seoul in SK then I guarantee you NK would be attacked not only by the US but by a coalition of countries. The consequences of nuking another country these days would be huge. NK know that an invasion of SK would result in retaliation. I also doubt under Obama the US would attack Iran unless absolutely provoked, he seems keen on sanctions and local issues like the US economy which has finally picked up again than waging another war.

Iran Unveils Several Military, Technological Achievements
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran on Monday unveiled 21 new home-made achievements and projects in defensive and technological fields.

The projects were unveiled on the occasion of the Ten-Day Dawn, celebrating the victor of the Islamic Revolution back in 1979.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said that nine production lines have been inaugurated, which include those for advanced laser-guided systems of a cannon type, guiding systems of an anti-armor missile, a warning apparatus of a laser defense system meant to protect sensitive and important areas in the country, three advanced radars and a powerful microwave lamp.

He added that eight other products including thermal cameras, laser systems, air-defense, and electronic communications for submarines were delivered to Iran's Armed Forces.

Vahidi also noted that four research projects in the field of electronic warfare have been completed, which will enter the phase of industrial production in the near future.

The minister reiterated that the achievements would considerably increase Iran's defense powers.

Two new Submarines join navy fleet

Tehran, Feb 8, IRNA – Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said on Thursday that the two new submarines have been added to the submarine fleet of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Navy.

Rear Admiral Sayyari noted that Ghadir-class submarines have been totally designed and manufactured by Iranian experts.

He pointed out that the submarines joined the Iranian Navy's fleet concurrent with the 10-day-dawn marking the 33rd victory of the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran.

'Two other submarines of the same type (Ghadir-class) joined the navy fleet concurrent with Velayat-90 navy drills in the east of the Strait of Hormuz, Sea of Oman, Gulf of Eden, and north Indian Ocean,' Rear Admiral Sayyari added.

All parts of the submarine, including fuselage, radar equipment, and advanced defense equipment have been designed and manufactured by the experts at the Islamic Republic of Iran's Defense Ministry.

High maneuver capabilities of Ghadir-Class submarine make it suitable for Iran's weather conditions.

I really hope that they are actually designed and made by Iranians, and not by hiring Rus/chin scientists and copying their crap.
