Yes.
But in the end the military technology does not benefit the people. |

Quote:
The castro communist dictatorship in Cuba has an internal embargo on its people that consists of the government monopolizing all of the big commerces in the country, including foreign ones, and getting large percents of its profits. What bothers most is that while these stores charge in U.S. dollars (hypocritically using the "imperialists'" form of exchange), Cubans are paid in Cuban pesos, which have 26 times less values. This means that Cubans must pay exorbitant prices for every-day items like soap or food. Consider that at most, professionals will get paid 30 dollars a month; that means lots of people will go hungry and/or will resort to the black market. I pray you do not follow any man that supports the oppression of another. Look at the example of Chavez, he talks about many "good" things, but completely misses the mark when it comes to not supporting a brutal and oppressive communist dictatorship that treats its 11 million people as nothing more than slaves. I cannot say that some of the things that the West does today are not wrong, but I cannot ignore the plight of a people who hunger under another government, either. Therefore, I urge you to always do some research on the opposing sides The oppression of ANY person, people, or nation should automatically equate to the ousting of power of the person, people, or government in charge. Saludos!

yea but instead of that, if the country had correct policies they wouldnt be in such situation to need military power
at the end, it doesnt build houses, fill people's stomachs or help develop society the obsession with defence is a result of ill policies and wrong decisions |

Correct policies didnt protect the europeans against hilters germany, or asian pacific against the emparor of japan, or counless others who stood there while power hunger nations attacked...
Iran would have to give in to americas superiority complex to have "correct policies". |

the europeans didnt have much of a correct policy either, or the pacific nations, aside, the situation in the world has changed
iran doesnt have to give in, just tell them to stop talking so much crap thought that wouldnt make a difference, what u say is correct in general but the issue is that military in iran seems to be a source of "pride" for some while unemployment and many many many other issues are much more important to be solved

Iran is developing itself, despite the sanctions. Of course, the sanctions have caused alot of issues with it's political, economic and millitary developments. But this regime has got to go! It is corrupt and is hurting the true potential of the Iranian people.

1) The stronger and more technologically advanced Iran's military is, the less likely it is that Iran is going to get attacked. 2) It creates jobs for Iranians. 3) The billions of dollars that would be spent on acquiring foreign equipment if Iran didn't have an military industry, they remain in Iran. |

True, but at the moment there's other sectors in Iran which could use the money funneled into developing military technology better.
Iran is in a huge need of developing its infrastructure, especially in the Khuzestan province where lots were destroyed during the Iran-Iraq war. Much has been rebuilt, but in general many roads, buildings etc need mass-renovation. |

it is true,
there is always a better place to spend money for the people's well being; but unfortunately you are forced to spend money on military development, otherwise you are forced to buy their weaponry and depend totally on them. this is the well earning source for the west. so iran is doing right in developping their own. |

1- look at the neighborhood Switzerland, Austria and Denmark are in and then compare to Iran! 2- People used to pick on the shah for strengthening the military, saying we have poor people, etc... which was true, but that same strengthened military is what stopped Iraq from taking over. 3-These photos aren't of modern day basijis who beat poor innocent people in the streets. These are people who will defend Iran's borders from invaders, regardless of who runs the country. I wish they were actually a bit stronger so they could counter the Pasdaran influence. |
