Alright then, yeah I'm with you on that. And all the UNESCO precautions are so weird, how would it be bad for the old town to build another skyscraper in Pankrac when there are already some tall buildings in the area?

You´re absolutely right. Skyscrapers certainly look better in clusters than alone. And Pankrac could be something like "Prague´s La Defence". Well maybe one day but I don´t see that coming.
We can only hope this towers will be build at least at Chodov because I think it´s really nice and interesting project and it would be two tallest building in Czech Republic.

Has anyone already discovered what project is that tower next to Chodov shopping center? It can be seen on these two renders:

I believe it would be a new part of The Park. Or is it just Kellner's fantasy?

This is pure awesomeness, and a very welcome addition for Prague. How likely are they to be built?

Well, nobody knows, there´s been no new info since this May, but I believe they´re just in zoning permission procedure.

It looks like there are some new information about this project. PPF is trying to get all permisions for construction.

Btw., the article in Czech is all about locals crying that the skyscrapers will destroy the local environment. Arguments against skyscrapers include that they destroy greenery (if the same office space is built in a czech way, vertically, it probably takes much less of the land area...), introduce noise (especially for people who would not see the freeway anymore that is right behind the skyscrapers), more cars (true, but close mero station serves much better skyscrapers than vertical offices build instead of 1 km of ex-unkept greenery nearby; and cars some right from the freeway), UNESCO will remove Prague from the heritage sites (as far as I know, UNESCO never said this, despite czech activists begging them to say this), skyscrapers destroy panorama of Prague castle (not these, these are too far, but some closer ones, which are still very far and do not stand behind the castle, but serveral km before, well outside the mediaval center). These public movements succesfully annihilated any effort for skyscrapers in Prague so far. Nobody really raises voice agains those odd opinions.

You guys from other countries, do you have the same kind of brainwashing protests at home against anything new?
And do you think that we Czech even deserve skyscrapers and any real business center?

In this case, I think the location is wrong, because all highrises and skyscrapers in Prague should be located in Pankrác IMO, where are already some highrises built.

When it comes to activists, we Slovaks are brothers in this. We also have strong BANANAs

I dont know where those towers are located in prague, but we have the same problems with activists and nimbys in vienna.
Maybe its even worse, we have residentials of skyscrapers who are protesting against other skyscrapers..

I agree it would be best if it was this way.

Surely Pankrác area will be the best (this is not the one for PETowers). Transportation assured by metro line C, other line D is planned as next, both lines connect the area with many railway stations, panorama of the skyscrapers will be visible even from the hills around the center (I am a big fun of skyscraper panoramas).
The planned ones, Prague Eye Towers, are at least on metro C. But I heard its quite crowded in rush hours. Disadvantage of PET is that they are quite far from the airport (contrary to the belief that Prague is small, Prague is actually relativelly big in compare with other same populated cities) - 18 km direct distance, much more on the road. In my opinion, airport is an important economical gateway for all cities. Skyscraper business district should be preferably closer to the airport than PET.
Its certainly good that the owner of the PET project seems to be really determined to build them no matter how difficult is it going to be.
